In the framework of a joint and coordinated operation, the Colombian aerospace force, through Air Combat Command No. 5 with a UH-60L helicopter carried out the aerial extraction of three individuals who surrendered to justice, alleged members of the GAO-r substructure 18 and a minor recovered in the Santa Rita sector, Ituango municipality, Antioquia department.
The mission was executed in coordination with the Fourth Brigade of Colombian National Army and the National Police, for the purpose of providing security and mobility for timely transfer. CACOM 5's UH-60L aircraft entered the established area and conducted the extraction of personnel in accordance with the Protocols of the military operation in force.
Within the group was a recovered minor, allegedly victim of recruitment forced by the GAO-r substructure 18, who was benefited with the restoration of his rights by the immediate activation of institutional routes for the comprehensive Protection of children and adolescents.
Subsequently, all three were transported to the facilities of the Pedro Justo Berrio Battalion, where they were handed over to the authority to give continuity to their process of reintegration, in compliance with the defined procedures.
This operation demonstrates the ability to respond and interinstitutional coordination to support the processes contemplated within the legal framework, while reaffirming the state's commitment to the protection of the minors, victims of forced recruitment and in the stabilization of the territory.
The Colombian Aerospace Force has all its resources at the service of security, legality and the consolidation of peace, working jointly, coordinated and interagency to work for the presence of the State and the protection of communities.
