The individuals were surprised while transporting abundant explosive material to carry out illegal mining operations.

In development of the Ayacucho Joint Strategic Campaign Plan, in the last few hours, National Army troops with the support of the National Police and National Park personnel, in the La Leonera and El Pato sector, rural area of Santiago de Cali, Valle del Cauca, reported the arrest of three people who were transporting explosives to carry out work of illicit exploitation of mining deposits.

The troops of the High Mountain Battalion No.3 of the Third Brigade, together with the authorities, inspected the vehicle where these people were traveling with abundant explosive material, which when verified found inside 115 units of Indugel, about 30 kilograms of ANFO and 200 meters of security fuse.

Those arrested, the material found and the vehicle were put into custody of the authorities for the respective prosecution process.

The National Army, in compliance with the Amazonas Plan that seeks the protection of water, biodiversity and the environment, is constant in its operation against this illicit income, which hits an important environmental reserve for the region and leads illegal groups to finance criminal operations against civilians and the Military Forces.
