The individuals were captured in flagrancy in the rural area of La Esperanza, Norte de Santander.
Santander. During a military operation carried out by troops of the Ricaurte Battalion of the Fifth Brigade attached to the Second Division, it was possible to capture in flagrancy three individuals in the hamlet Caño de Hoyo, municipality of La Esperanza (Norte de Santander); they were illegally exploiting mining deposits.
The soldiers arrived at the bank of a stream in the sector where the individuals were exercising this activity without the respective licenses.
With these captures it was in the same way possible to find an electric hammer that would cost 4 million 500 thousand pesos, an air blower motor with an approximate cost of 500 thousand pesos and a power generator valued at 10 million pesos. Those captured and the material found were put into custody of the National Police.
