As part of military operations aimed at combating the problem of drug trafficking, units of the Twelfth Brigade, on the road that connects the department of Caquet谩 with the department of Huila, found a truck loaded with narcotics.
During the military checkpoint, the soldiers of the Twelfth Brigade, attached to the Sixth Division of the Army, with their differential resources and trained dog detected the narcotic and implement the mechanisms stipulated for the respective finding.
In the procedure, the driver tried to bribe the members of the Military Forces by 200 million pesos but the soldiers, acting in integrity, rejected these attempts and proceeded to report the finding of the illicit material. The driver of the FTR-type vehicle was arrested and put into custody of the authorities for their respective prosecution process.
It should be noted that, when inspecting the vehicle, which came from the city of Popay谩n bound for the city of Florencia, it was intercepted. Sacks containing approximately 3,049 kilograms of marijuana were found by troops.
Apparently, and according to research, this drug would have a cost that would exceed 9 billion pesos. In addition, it is presumed that its final destination would be the country of Brazil for marketing purposes.
In the same way, this operation contributes to the fulfillment of strategic objective n潞 2, focused on weakening the resources of the criminal organizations specialized in drug trafficking in the department.
