Through aerial means it was possible to extinguish forest fire in San Luis, Tolima

cogfm-fuerza-aerea-colombiana-custodios-del-medio-ambiente-16.jpg

After the emergency call for the fire in the vicinity of the municipality of San Luis, Tolima, it was necessary for helicopters of the Colombian Air Force, to assist the requirement, by the use of the Bambi Bucket system, with which it was possible to extinguish the conflagration in a timely manner.

The flames occurred in a place that is difficult to access by land, which is why, Air Combat Command crews No.4, arrived at the site, in Huey II helicopters, which transported from a nearby water source, more than five thousand gallons of water, which were later spread over the fire, preventing its spread and major damage to the vegetation.

In the House of the Helicopter Crews, the preparation of both aircraft, as well as trained personnel to provide support for this type of emergency, is permanent, especially taking into account the high temperatures that have occurred in recent days, which generate an environment conducive to the initial stage of fires, in the same way known as fire spots.

In this way, the Colombian Air Force continues to use Resources for environmental conservation and preservation, with its timely response to emergency requirements in any circumstance and place of the national territory.
