Through Military Demining, Our Soldiers Protect the Lives of 350 Inhabitants of the Villages La Reforma and and Paramillo

These tasks will be carried out on a sustained basis until the area is free of anti-personnel mines.

In stability operations, with the purpose of restoring security conditions for the inhabitants of the villages La Reforma and Paramillo, in Sardinata, in the department of Norte de Santander, soldiers of the Thirtieth Brigade, carry out Military Demining after verifying and finding anti-personnel mines, with the support of the community, which had been planted by illegal armed groups.

Following all the established security protocols, military experts in explosives and demolitions of the MARTE, EXDE and DELTA groups of the National Army, have destroyed in controlled conditions six antipersonnel mines in this area, safeguarding the lives of 350 inhabitants of this region, who couldn’t carry out their trades and mobility activities in the sector, as well as 60 students who must travel by these roads to get to rural school.

With these operations we prevent people from falling into these deadly traps, planted by outlaw groups that sought to sow terror and hit the progress and development of the region.

Together with this work, our military, in coordination with the inhabitants, will conduct the strategy Vida por Minas (Life for Mines), which consists of planting a tree for each device destroyed in controlled conditions.

In this way, our soldiers continue to conduct operations that protect the people and the companies in the department of Norte de Santander.
