For the last 7 years, Alaska has been a valued member of Colombian National Army. It is specialized in combating drug trafficking, and thanks to its skills, in 2024 it has been able to detect almost two tons of marijuana, preventing the commercialization in the main cities of the country.
Soldiers of the Eighth Brigade continue to attack drug trafficking in the department of Quindío. Recently, reported the seizure of more than 140 kilograms of marijuana and the arrest of an individual who was transporting the drug on an interdepartmental bus. The operation was carried out on the La Línea road, near the municipality of Calarcá, and it was thanks to the detection of the trained dog that the vehicle was inspected, which was heading from Cali to the city of Bogotá.
During the inspection, the soldiers initially found two kilograms of marijuana and, later, when conducting a detailed search in different parts of the car, they found more than 100 additional kilograms of the drug.
At the end, they identified that it was more than 140 kilograms of marijuana, so they proceeded to confiscate the drug and arrest the individual, who was brought to the authority.
