Within the framework of the international cooperation programs, four officers of the Chilean Air Force, FACh, are conducting their training as helicopter pilots in the Air Combat Command No. 4.
During this process, they have successfully passed the phases established in their instruction, recently reaching a relevant event, the execution of their first solo flight, an exercise in which they assume control of the aircraft without instructor accompaniment.
This phase corresponds to an essential stage of the basic helicopter course, which takes place over four months and includes theoretical trainings, simulations and real operations, in which students must demonstrate technical accuracy and decision-making ability in military operation conditions.
The protocol ceremony to commemorate this achievement counted on the presence of Aviation Colonel Cristian Sep煤lveda, of the FACh, as well as instructors and relatives, who accompanied the Officers at this moment of great significance for their training.
The Colombian Aerospace Force, through the International Helicopter School for the Military Forces, has strengthened its role as a strategic ally in the region, providing foreign forces training programs that integrate military operations experience and the use of state-of-the-art technologies, including high-immersion simulators and specialized air resources, which carries out competences adjusted to current demands.
Currently, the four Officers are part of a group of 19 students who are continuing their education. In the coming months, they will assume new phases of training that will consolidate their skills and reaffirm the ties of cooperation between both nations.
