In order to provide medical assistance to the Kogui Kokldaxa Cherua indigenous people, at the top of the Tucurinca River, it was possible to transport a medical team made of eight health professionals from the department of Magdalena.
A Bell-212 helicopter of the Air Combat Command No.3 was sent to carry out this mission to attend the call of the people due to an outbreak of whooping cough that has been harming the indigenous inhabitants.
Two boxes containing essential medicines for the treatment of the disease were in the same way transported during the flight. The distribution of these supplies was coordinated in conjunction with local health agencies and was carried out under strict safety and biosecurity protocols.
Through this operation, the Colombian Aerospace Force reiterates the institutional commitment to the most vulnerable villages in the country. Through its air resources, it has been working to increase access to essential medical services in hard-to-reach areas, thus contributing to the protection of the health and life of indigenous communities.
