Guaviare. In a HUEY II helicopter, belonging to the air component of the Joint Task Force Omega, in coordination with the Personnel Recovery Center, CNRP (in Spanish) and the Departmental Health Institute of Guaviare, the humanitarian aeromedical evacuation of a girl in a serious state of Health took place.
The 11-year-old patient, who had a severe abdominal pain due to possible appendicitis, was initially treated by the combat nurse of the Ground operations Battalion No. 5 and later by the physicians of the Rapid Deployment Force No. 1 on board the aircraft.
The personnel on board the aircraft stabilized her during the flight from the Inspection of Puerto Cachicamo to the capital city of Guaviare.
Despite the difficult access to this area, it was possible to carry out the humanitarian support successfully and the patient was transported stable to the Departmental Health Institute, to receive specialized care in the municipality of San José del Guaviare.
