Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan, troops of the First Brigade of Colombian National Army, through an alert of the military operation on possible terrorist acts against military units, reported the naturalization of a threat in the department of Boyacá.
During the execution of operations by soldiers of the High Mountain Battalion No. 2 General Santos Gutiérrez Prieto, it was possible to eliminate a terrorist action directed against the El Cardón Military Base, in a rural area of the municipality of Chita.
In the village of El Cardón, the troops found a device of launching improvised explosive devices (rampa type), equipped with explosives, which had allegedly been installed by members of the Adonay Ardila Front, Grupo Estrella, of the organized armed group ELN.
Immediately, the corresponding protocols were activated and the explosives and operations procedure was carried out, in coordination with the Judicial Police and the Attorney General's Office, in order to work for the security of the inhabitants and the troops in the area.
