Soldiers of the Field Artillery Battalion N.° 7, of Colombian National Army, thanks to military intelligence information and in coordination with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) Criminal Analysis Section (SAC) Villavicencio, found an illegal hiding place that would belong to the GAO Clan del Golfo, Gonzalo Oquendo Urrego Substructure, in the rural area of Puerto López, department of Meta.
The finding took place in the village of La Serranía, in this municipality, where more than 11,000 5.56 mm caliber cartridges were found by troops, which, according to the information collected, would be destined to strengthen the armed groups of this criminal organization.
According to the first investigations, this war material would have been collected by alias Juan Carlos, accused of being the alleged main ringleader of the structure.
Immediately, the corresponding urgent acts were carried out for the crime of manufacturing, trafficking and carrying firearms and ammunition, leaving the material found in the place into custody of the authorities.
