Two alleged members of the ELN voluntarily surrendered to the troops

Dos presuntos integrantes del ELN se presentaron voluntariamente

In the village of Punta Ardita, the municipality of Juradó - department of Chocó, two alleged members of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, ELN, voluntarily surrendered to the troops of the Colombian Navy and Colombian National Army.

Alias Pocillo and alias El Paisa, who would have belonged for three and five months respectively to the Cimarrón Resistance Front of the ELN, surrendered to the troops of the Navy Infantry Battalion No.23 and Colombian National Army, expressing their willingness to begin the process of returning to legality.

At the time of surrender, a pistol, a magazine, six cartridges of different calibers and five identification bracelets of this outlaw group were put into custody of military personnel.

They were immediately transported by sea from Punta Ardita to the municipality of Juradó, where they received medical assistance and their good health was verified.

Subsequently, the military personnel established communication with the Attorney General's Office, the Ombudsman's Office and the Humanitarian Assistance Group for the Demobilized, in order to provide conditions for the respective process and return to civilian life.

The Military Forces will continue to carry out operations that contribute to the tranquility of the inhabitants of the Colombian Pacific.
