Soldiers of the National Army in coordination with the Magdalena Medio Police, arrested two individuals, apparently responsible for the attack carried out against a police patrol on April 27, on the road that connects Puerto Wilches with Barrancabermeja, in the department of Santander.
These men, presumed members of the organized armed group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, would have attacked the patrol when members of the security forces were carrying out search on a young man as part of their search and control tasks, leaving as result a policeman injured and the death of the young man.
They immediately fled the site, hiding among palm plantations about three kilometers of the scene, where they were found by the soldiers and later arrested. A firearm was found in their possession and they were put into custody of the authority for prosecution for the crimes of illegal carrying of weapons and homicide.
