One of those arrested would be the Financial Chief Officer of this gang.
Through territorial control operation carried out in the south of Bolívar, troops of the Mechanized Infantry Battalion No. 4 of the Joint Task Force Marte, were able to capture two alleged members of the Organized Armed Group (GAO) Clan del Golfo, substructure Luis Fernando Gutiérrez, in rural area of the municipality of Achí.
According to intelligence work, these people would be within this terrorist group for several years, apparently carrying out the collection of money from extortions to merchants and guilds of the municipality of Achí. At the time of the capture, the troops found two pistols, ammunition, five cellphones and plenty of cash.
The individuals and the war material found were put into custody of the authorities for the respective judicial process.
With this heavy result it was possible to hit again the illicit activities and logistical scaffolding of the GAO Clan del Golfo.
The First Division of the National Army will continue carrying out military operations to neutralize the different factors of instability that converge in the south of Bolivar. It will also ensure the security and tranquility of its inhabitants.
