Two alleged members of the GAO Clan del Golfo who were transporting 5 thousand gallons of fuel were arrested.

Capturados dos presuntos integrantes del GAO

The liquid was hidden in a layer simulating a mattress, with which they planned to go unnoticed through the checkpoints of the Fifth Brigade in Aguachica, in Cesar.

In the last few hours, troops of Infantry Battalion No. 14 Capitan Antonio Ricaurte and the Fuel Special Operations Group of the Police, arrest two individuals, alleged members of the GAO Clan del Golfo and the finding of two truck-type vehicles, in which they were transporting 5 thousand gallons of stolen fuels.

The events were reported in the village of El Juncal, of the municipality of Aguachica, department of Cesar, where at the checkpoints that the troops of the Fifth Brigade conduct in the Travel Safe, your Army is on the road Plan, the soldiers identified the vehicles in which they were transporting the illegal fuel.

On this occasion, the arrested individuals allegedly used a high-density polypropylene bag in which they hid this flammable liquid in order to evade the operations taking place on the road during Holy Week; in this way, they even put themselves and others around them at risk by transporting this fuel without the necessary safety precautions.

Those arrested were put into custody of the authorities to continue their judicial process, damaging through this result the sources of financing of the armed group  GAO Clan del Golfo, which is usually used for the production of narcotics.

With operations like this, the Fifth Brigade of Colombian National Army reaffirms its commitment to powerful military operations that prove security to the inhabitants attacking the illegal activities of organized armed groups in the region.
