Two members of the Comandos de Frontera Structure, arrested in firefight against Colombian National Army in Putumayo

Dos integrantes de la Estructura Comandos de Frontera, capturados tras combates con el Ejército Nacional en Putumayo

As a result of military operations, more than 96 arrests of members of residual Organized Armed Groups committing crimes have been made in the Colombian Amazon in 2024.

 

Soldiers of the Jupiter Consolidation and Stabilization Military Operations Command, a unit of the Sixth Division, fought against the Residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Comandos de Frontera Structure, in the village of Cabildo Alto Mango, rural area of the municipality of Puerto Guzmán, Putumayo, which resulted in the arrest of two alleged members of this criminal structure. 

 

In the same way, 3 rifles, abundant war material and military accessories for the exclusive use of the Military Forces, communication equipment, 21 mortar rounds, 60 explosive devices and more than 8 million pesos in cash were found by troops. 

 

The operation was made possible thanks to the coordinated, joint and inter-institutional work conducted by the Colombian Aerospace Force, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office.
