Two members of transnational network specialized in drug trafficking extradited to the United States

Extraditados a Estados Unidos dos integrantes de red transnacional dedicada al narcotráfico

In a coordinated action conducted by the Drug Enforcement Agency -DEA- and INTERPOL Colombia, two accused of integrating a transnational criminal network specialized in drug trafficking were extradited.

These individuals had been arrested during Operation Resplendor last February 20, 2025, for the crimes of association to commit crimes and drug trafficking, within a specialized case conducted by the Colombian Navy for providing information on the military operation, thus favoring illicit drug trafficking activities to Central America and the United States.

Both individuals will have to face charges before a Federal Court of the District of Tampa (Florida) for Conspiracy and Drug Trafficking.

The arrest of these individuals represents a significant blow to the transnational crime structures specialized in drug trafficking, by weakening their attempts to obtain sensitive information related to naval operations in the Colombian Caribbean. In addition, this result managed to neutralize acts aimed at infiltrating people with the purpose of generating illicit links between drug trafficking organizations and some members of the Military Forces.

The National Navy reiterates its zero tolerance policy against corruption while categorically rejecting any individual behavior contrary to institutional principles and values, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to national security, transparency and the protection of the interests of all Colombians.
