The minister of Health and Social Protection, Fernando Ruiz Gómez, led a unified command post - PMU-in the capital city of Casanare with the commanders of the Military Forces and health institutions of the region, due to the exponential increase in COVID cases in this area of the country.

The Casanare Air Group was at the meeting, taking into account that the Colombian Air Force has been key in the management of the health crisis, in the transfer of COVID patients and the distribution of humanitarian aid throughout the national territory through Operation San Roque.

The activity studied the measures taken by the department to deal with the pandemic, in which inter-agency work has been carried out conducted by Military Forces and government institutions to curb the spread of the virus.

The objective of this Command post is to know the measures, problems and needs in the department of Casanare health sector and to propose strategies to curb infections, which are especially focused on self-care and timely care of patients.
