Reaffirming its commitment to the well-being of the most vulnerable communities in the country, the Colombian Aerospace Force carried out a Medical and Humanitarian Assistance Activity (AAMHU) in the municipality of Maicao, which was accompanied by Colombian National Army, the Government of the Department of La Guajira and the mayor's office of this municipality.
Thanks to the San Jos茅 de Maicao Hospital and the coordination with allied foundations in specialties such as general medicine, family medicine, nursing, pediatrics, dentistry, optometry, physical therapy, psychology, social work, nutrition, cytologist, prostate tests and clinical breast exams.
For this humanitarian assistance activity, the Aerospace Force sent a Boeing 767-type aircraft that transported not only medical and logistics personnel from Bogot谩, but in the same way 2.2 tons of cargo with donations of clothes in good condition, rice boxes, medicines, medical equipment and wheelchairs, for the benefit of the Guajira families.
This activity benefitted 1389 people, provided 6043 health care services and suppled 30,000 liters of water as well as 1000 recreation services and recreational activities, reflects the union of resources and the firm commitment of the Institution to actively contribute to improving the quality of life of one of the most vulnerable villages in the country.
