Through this finding, the distribution of more than 80 thousand doses of narcotics on the streets of the world was prevented.
489 kilograms of marijuana were found by troops in the framework of joint operations conducted by the Colombian Navy and Colombian National Army, in the sector of San Pedro del Naya, Special District of Buenaventura - Valle del Cauca.
The procedure began when, during river control activities in the area, troops of the Colombian Navy and the Army detected a ship that was traveling suspiciously. However, faced with the military personnel, the individuals who manned the boat started to escape, leaving it abandoned.
When inspecting the boat, 18 sacks of different sizes were found by troops inside. Due to its characteristics and smell, it would resemble illicit substances. A river unit in the area, transferred the boat and the cargo to the Isla Naval facilities in Buenaventura, to continue with the relevant processes.
On the spot, the staff of the Technical Investigation Corps - CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Attorney General's Office, conducted the Approved Preliminary Identification Test - PIPH, determining that it was 489 kilograms of marijuana, which was put into custody of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office 53 of Cali.
Through this finding, more than three million dollars were prevented from entering the finances of the drug trafficking organizations that commit crimes in the region, as well as the distribution of more than 80 thousand doses on the streets of the world.
