In Valle del Cauca, an illegal hiding place with weapons and material and military accessories of the Military Forces

En el Valle del Cauca, ubicado un depósito ilegal con armamento y material de intendencia de las Fuerzas Militares

The material found would belong to the Organized Gang “La Local”, faction “Los Shottas”.

The Colombian Navy, within the framework of an operation coordinated with the Judicial Investigation – SIJÍN Section of the National Police in the department of Valle del Cauca, found an illegal hiding place with weapons and military accessories material for the exclusive use of the Colombian Military Forces, which apparently belonged to the La Local Organized Gang, Los Shottas faction.

At Puerto España, on the San Juan River, the troops of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No. 24 and the staff of the SIJIN, found inside this illegal hiding place, two rifles, 355 cartridges of different calibers, two magazines and garments for the exclusive use of the Military Forces.

It is presumed that this material was intended to facilitate illicit activities, such as extortion, kidnapping and theft at sea, of criminal groups that commit crimes in this region of the country. The items were put into custody of the SIJÍN of the National Police in Buenaventura.

It should be noted that, so far this year in the Colombian Pacific, the Naval Institution has found 304 weapons of different calibers and more than 57 thousand cartridges, belonging to criminal groups in the area.
