This individual would be in charge of coordinating logistical activities related to war elements in Cali, Buenaventura and Dagua.
Within the framework of joint operations conducted by the Colombian Navy and Colombian National Army, coordinated with the National Police and inter–institutional with the Attorney General's Office, alias Yair, alleged logistical member of the Organized Armed Group - GAO ELN, was arrested in the city of Cali, department of Valle de Cauca.
The arrest was made in the San Fernando neighborhood, at the facilities of the University Hospital of the Valley Evaristo García, where troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Buenaventura and Military Gaula - Valle, in coordination with members of the Military Forces of the Criminal Investigation Section – SIJIN (JUDICIAL POLICE) and personnel of the Technical Investigation Corps – CTI, made effective the judicial order against this individual.
According to military intelligence information, alias Yair would conduct logistical functions within the criminal structure, being in charge of coordinating the supply of war elements in the municipalities of Cali, Buenaventura and Dagua. In the same way, it would be linked to extortion activities and recruitment of people to strengthen the criminal acts of this organized armed group.
This individual is wanted by the authorities for the crimes of association to commit aggravated crimes, illicit recruitment, manufacture, trafficking and carrying of firearms or ammunition, manufacture, trafficking and carrying of weapons for the exclusive use of the Military Forces, as well as trafficking, manufacture or carrying of narcotics.
The arrested man was put into custody of the authorities to conduct the corresponding judicial process.
The Colombian Navy, through the Navy Infantry Brigade No. 2, will continue to carry out joint, coordinated and inter-institutional operations aimed at weakening criminal structures and countering their criminal acts, contributing to the security and stability of the Colombian Pacific communities.
