During the ceremony to commemorate the National Day of Memory and Solidarity with Victims, the Minister of National Defense, Luis Carlos Villegas, accompanied by the military and police commanders, recognized the importance of the role that the heroes of the country have fulfilled with the country to achieve peace.
"This is a recognition of the work of soldiers of land, sea and air, and our police officers to all of those men, women and their families who, with their invaluable dedication, have suffered the adversities of the conflict," said Minister Villegas in the Teatro Patria, where the ceremony was held.
The Minister said that thanks to this work, the country has gained the stability in which peace now can grow in many areas of Colombia.
"Victims and heroes go hand in hand and are inseparable concepts, Siamese " he said.
During the ceremony, the Minister of Defense was decorated by the Armed Forces with the presidential citation of the Military and Police Victory for his vocation of service in benefit of the Public Force
"This is a privilege that I receive, as a symbol of victory, peace and union of the Forces with the nation," he said.
