Visual health activity benefits students of Ciudad Bolívar, Bogotá, and Soacha, Cundinamarca.

Jornada de salud visual beneficia a estudiantes de Ciudad Bolívar y Soacha

With smiles full of enthusiasm and hope, students of the schools Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza, in Ciudad Bolívar, and Buenos Aires, Locality 4, of Soacha, received 316 prescription glasses, contributing directly to their educational process and quality of life.

This solidarity activity was made possible thanks to the alliance made by the Humanitarian Demining Engineers Brigade of the Colombian National Army and the G Foundation, reaffirming its commitment to children and education as pillars of social transformation.

At the Buenos Aires School, in the Ciudadela Azúcar sector, its principal, Carlos Hernán Silva Beltrán, expressed his gratitude: "Today we deeply thank the G Foundation for the donation of 220 pairs of glasses for preschool, elementary and high school students. It is a beautiful gesture that directly benefits the quality of life and learning of children and adolescents."

For her part, Alejandra Gómez, representative of the G Foundation, highlighted the value of working together: "We thank the Humanitarian Demining of Colombian National Army for joining us in this activity in which we are about to distribute 316 glasses in Ciudad Bolívar and Soacha, bringing well-being and opportunities to more students."

Representing the municipality of Ciudad Bolívar, Gladys Guantiva Costa, principal of the Didascalio Nuestra Señora de La Esperanza School, shared a message full of emotion: "I thank God and the Blessed Virgin, because, through them, the G Foundation came to the institution with a wonderful donation: 96 glasses that today will benefit students and their families. It is a present that transforms lives."

The commander of the Humanitarian Demining Engineer Brigade, Colonel Leonardo Cárdenas Ortega, highlighted the value of these alliances by pointing out that "for many children, the lack of resources to access glasses means being left behind in the classroom and having their educational process hindered. That is why initiatives like this contribute to the comprehensive well-being of students, prevent dropouts and reaffirm our humanitarian commitment to the most vulnerable villages in the country."

The voice of the students in the same way was heard. Keiner Arévalo, a student and future candidate for people's representative for human rights, said: "We sincerely thank this distribution of glasses that will help us in our studies. God bless you always."

With events like this, the G Foundation and Colombian National Army show that education, accompanied by solidarity, is still the way to build a future with more opportunities for everyone.
