Waste collection contributes to the preservation of the environment

Recolecci贸n de residuos contribuye a la preservaci贸n del medio ambiente

An activity hand in hand with the allied people and institutions was carried out in the Ca帽o Maizaro of Villavicencio, where members of the Colombian Aerospace Force belonging to the Air Combat Command No. 2, CACOM 2, linked to the collection of solid waste in the border of the river and surrounding areas.

The union of the private company, the Meta Visible NGO Foundation, Officers, Non-commissioned Officers and soldiers of CACOM 2 led to the collection of items such as tires, furniture, appliances, among others, which are indiscriminately left to the Maizaro River, seriously polluting the waters, damaging the channel, its flora and fauna.

In the same way, the participating institutions made an appeal to the communities that inhabit this area of the capital city of Meta, since this water source in the same way suffers the dumping of pollutants and debris aggravating the level of pollution and the risk of diverting its channel in rainy season.

The Aerospace Force, in the frame of preserving natural resources and the environment, does its best to increase awareness among the inhabitants and create collective consciousness that promotes good practices and respect for Mother nature
