Colombian Navy Coast Guard units rescued a man near the traditional Blowhole, who, according to a community report, was at risk of drowning.
Once the report was received and the information verified, the Naval Institution deployed a Rapid Reaction Unit - URR, for the search and rescue operation. Despite the low visibility and heavy winds that characterize the December season, the Sailors of Colombia, rescued alive the man raizal community, 38, who was drifting.
Once rescued, he was taken to the dock of the Coast Guard Station of San Andrés Isla, where he received timely assistance of the team of nurses of the Emergency Regulatory Center - CRUE, who transported him to the Departmental Hospital.
The Colombian Navy, through the Specific Command of San Andrés and Providencia, reaffirms its commitment to the island and raizal people; in the same way, it calls on people to take extreme safety measures and comply with the established schedules for water activities in the Archipelago.
