More than 50 people, including military personnel and volunteers of different specialties, were transported on board the ARC ship Bah铆a M谩laga of the Colombian Navy, of the District of Buenaventura - Valle del Cauca, to Playa Chac贸n, in the department of Cauca, where 520 people were waiting for them to benefit from different free health services and recreation activities.
After 14 hours of navigation through the Pacific Ocean, the ship arrived at the mouth of Chac贸n Beach, a town that can only be accessed by sea. The military and civilian personnel were disembarked in boats, where they began to provide free of charge services in general medicine, dentistry, oral rehabilitation, psychology and physiotherapy.
In the same way, recreation activities were carried out and donations, groceries, presents for children, clothing, medicines and liquid food supplement were distributed.
This development support activity led by the Colombian Navy was made possible thanks to the integration and participation of different government institutions and private institutions, including the Mayor's Office of Timbiqu铆, the United States Embassy, the Pacific Mission Support Command - COAMI, the Minuto de Dios Corporation, the Alianzas Solidarias Foundation, the Lejaim Foundation, the Colombian Pacific Sectional Naval Patrol, the Re-Life Foundation for a Better World, the Andr茅s Bedoya Foundation, the Liam Foundation, the San Luis Life Foundation and the Institute for Blind and Deaf Children of the department of Valle del Cauca.
The Colombian Navy, through the Pacific Naval Force and its different units, will continue to work for the well-being of the communities that inhabit the Colombian Pacific, in order to contribute to territorial consolidation, improving the quality of life and supporting the progress of the villages.
