These arrests were made thanks to the collaboration of civilians, and as a result, the illegal activities of the organized armed group, GAO, Clan del Golfo are significantly hit.
National Army troops, in order to reduce the resources of the threat, protect civilians and governance, arrested nine people, alleged members of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo.
This military operation took place in the village of El Cerro, municipality of San Rafael, Antioquia; there the soldiers were sent and through motorized displacement tactics they reported intercepting these people, who, feeling the pressure of the troops, felt cornered and tried to escape, an action that was quickly neutralized.
According to intelligence information, these people would have the purpose of strengthening criminal operations on the hamlets San Carlos, San Rafael and San Roque, in the eastern subregion of the department of Antioquia.
In the same operation it was in the same way possible to find a van, 4 motorcycles, 12 communication equipment, 2 handguns, a shotgun, a hand grenade, several magazines and ammunition, which like those arrested were put into custody of the authorities.
