Wreath laying to the bust of Prince Alexandru Ioan Cuza reaffirms the Colombo-Romanian cooperation

Ofrenda floral al busto del príncipe Alexandru Ioan Cuza reafirma la cooperación colombo-rumana

In a solemn act of diplomacy and fraternity, the Military Museum of Colombia, La Candelaria headquarters, in Bogotá, D.C., was the setting for the wreath laying ceremony to the bust of Prince Alexandru Ioan Cuza, founder of the modern State of Romania.

The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Romania, Manuel Pleșa, the director of the Center for Strategic Analysis of Transition, Colonel Fernando Rodríguez Uribe, and the director of the Department of International Affairs of the General Command of the Military Forces, Yassir Geovanny Cháves Silva, among other special guests.

Although Cuza has no direct connection to Colombian history, his legacy as a reformer and unifier of the principalities of Moldova and Wallachia in 1859 makes him a universal symbol of modernization and progress. This gesture reaffirms the partnership and cooperation between Colombia and Romania, nations that share common values and objectives in the international environment.

It should be noted that the bust of Cuza was donated by the Romanian Presidency. In reciprocity, the National Military Museum in Bucharest houses a statue of General Francisco de Paula Santander, an exchange that symbolizes the solid and respectful diplomatic relationship conducted by the two countries.

This ceremony not only recognizes the importance of international cooperation, but in the same way serves as a reminder of the historical and cultural ties that unite Colombia and Romania.
