In the same way, in another incident in Leticia, 250 kilograms of drugs were seized. In the same way, in a firm commitment to interoperability with Brazil, 110 kilos of narcotics were confiscated.

Within the framework of military operations, binational interoperability operations, in the last few hours the Military Forces, together with the Peruvian Police and the Brazilian Army, found more than two tons of narcotics that criminal groups intended to transport and market in the three nations.

The first event took place in a joint operation conducted by Colombian National Army, the Navy and the Aerospace Force together with members of the Military Forces of the Peruvian Police. Thanks to the binational operation that began a few months ago with that country and the constant communication, an exchange of military intelligence information was coordinated that led to finding in Santa Rosa, Peru, a few meters of the tripartite border of Brazil, Colombia and Peru, the place where the criminals had 52 sacks that contained about 1900 kilograms of marijuana.

In this operation, the authorities arrested eight individuals, seven of them Colombians and one Brazilian. One of the detainees would be the head of the structure and who would be the main coordinator for the transportation of narcotics, through illegal routes. In the same way, to receive and hide drugs in illegal hiding places on the triple border, through criminal alliances with criminal groups from neighboring countries.

According to preliminary information, this drug shipment would have been destined for the streets of Brazil, so the distribution of a large number of doses was prevented, which becomes a heavy blow dealt to illegal finances.

Both the material found and the eight people arrested will have to face charges in the neighboring country for the crime of drug trafficking.

In the second operation the Colombian Military Forces, in compliance with the Strategic Joint Campaign Plan Ayacucho, 250 kilos were found by troops in Leticia, capital of Amazonas. Members of the Military Forces, guided by military intelligence information, found in an illegal hideout the narcotic which was to be distributed in that region of the south of the country and in Tabatinga, Brazil. An individual was arrested at the scene who will have to face charges for the crime of trafficking, manufacturing and carrying narcotics.

Finally, in a binational operation of interoperability conducted by the Brazilian Military Forces and the Brazilian Army, 110 kilograms of marijuana were found by troops in Vila Bittencourt, a municipality in the Brazilian State of Amazonas, on the eastern bank of the Caquetá River, which is part of the border with the sister nation and Colombia.

The action occurred after meetings of the binational military operation that have been carried out in recent months, which has led the Colombian and Brazilian authorities to have valuable information for the deployments of troops at strategic points, leading to the closure of mobility routes used by criminals.

With these three results, the logistical and criminal structures of the criminal organizations that commit crimes in the area and profit illegally from drug trafficking are hit.

The binational military interoperability efforts conducted by Colombia and Peru, as well as by Colombia and Brazil will continue to be conducted in a joint and coordinated manner to continue working to raise the security and defense conditions in the border area.
