In an effort to bring vital medical care to the remote communities of the country and reaffirm the commitment to the well-being of Colombians, the Mayor's Office of Cumaribo, its Colombian Air Force, Colombian National Army, the National Police, the ICBF, the Minuto de Dios Organization Corporation, the Juan N Corpas Foundation, Volunteer Optometrists from Colombia, Payativos and other institutions, worked hand in hand to bring specialized medical services to the inhabitants of Cumaribo and surrounding sectors in the department of Vichada.
Thus, during this humanitarian operation, the Colombian Air Force deployed its air capabilities to transport doctors, nurses, volunteers and specialists from different disciplines who joined this mission work to provide services ranging from general consultations to specific interventions.
During this two-day day, despite the intense sun and language barriers, 1,497 people benefited, 1,346 medical assistance was provided, which included specialties such as pediatrics, urology, gynecology and family medicine. In addition, 501 prescriptions of medicines, 147 frames and dark glasses and more than 600 donations of clothing, school kits and other items were distributed, demonstrating the commitment of the different institutions to the health and well-being of the Colombian population.
In this way, the Colombian Air Force's aircraft have acted as air bridges that connect urban medical centers with the most distant rural areas, overcoming geographical limitations to provide help where it is most needed and will continue to carry out activities that promote community engagement.
