Jaime Martínez, which resulted in the death in the framework of military operations of one person, as well as the finding of abundant war material and military accessories.
During the confrontation, this gang, apparently, upon feeling the pressure of the troops, would have shot indiscriminately against the inhabitants, causing injuries to three inhabitants of the sector, who were immediately assisted by Colombian Navy nurses. Later, the Naval Institution sent a helicopter of the Pacific Naval Air Group to transfer the injured persons to a specialized medical center in Buenaventura, where unfortunately, due to the severity of the injuries, one of them died.
In these events, two rifles, two pistols, five shotguns and communication equipment were found by troops, as well as abundant war material and military accessories alluding to the residual GAO - Jaime Martínez Structure. In addition, garments for the exclusive use of the Military Forces and the National Police were found by troops; these elements would be used by these criminals to commit crimes.
In fulfillment of the constitutional mission, the Colombian Navy reaffirms its commitment to the protection of the inhabitants, continuing with the deployment of troops to powerfully strike at the organized armed groups that commit crimes in the Colombian Pacific, weakening their criminal and logistical networks.
