In the framework of joint operations conducted by the Colombian Navy and Colombian National Army, two clandestine weapons workshops were found by troops in the urban area of the municipality of Cartagena del Chairá - Caquetá, allegedly belonging to the Rodrigo Cadete structure of the FARC dissidents who commit crimes in this area of the country.
The operation was carried out by troops attached to the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.31 jointly with National Army troops, guided by valuable information from the Colombian Navy, in compliance with a search warrant issued by the Attorney General's Office.
The workshops were found by troops in two buildings in the urban area, which contained abundant war material, including 60 weapons of different calibers, in addition to a large sum of cash, communications equipment and tools with which unconventional weapons would be manufactured to be used by members of the Residual Organized Armed Group Miller Perdomo Structure in terrorist operations against the Military Forces and civilians.
During the operation, two alleged members of the support networks of this GAO-r were arrested, who apparently carried out the modification of weapons, as well as the sale of ammunition of different calibers. Those arrested along with the material were put into custody of the authorities.
The Colombian Navy, through the Amazonas Naval Force, will continue to carry out operations against multi-criminal organizations that strike at peace, and rights, as well as the economic and social development of communities in the region.
