In favor of the protection and defense of the lives of the inhabitants of Arauca, the substructure 28 of the FARC dissidents was hit by military forces. This left the death in the framework of military operations of two members of this organized armed group. Abundant war material, military accessories and explosive devices were found by troops.

In compliance with the Ayacucho Strategic Joint Campaign Plan, the Military Forces carried out a series of operations in the department of Arauca, against Substructure 28 of the FARC dissidents.

In the first operation, carried out in the village of Matarrala, of the municipality Tame, in a joint, coordinated and inter-institutional manner by the National Army, the Colombian Navy, the Aerospace Force, the Police and the Prosecutor's Office, the death occurred in the framework of those military operations of a member of the Solín Hernández Company, of the organized armed group Substructure 28 of the FARC dissidents, who apparently would be part of the security component of the criminal alias Ruso, the top explosives expert and second ringleader of this illegal substructure.

In the same event, a 5.56 mm caliber M4 rifle, 2 pistols, 5.56 mm caliber ammunition, magazines for rifle and pistol, a 40 mm grenade and military accessories material exclusive to the Military Forces were seized; these implements were intended to commit selective homicides, extortion and intimidation of civilians.

The second operation took place in the village Las Nubes, in the municipality of Tame, where an offensive combat against the same substructure of the FARC dissidents resulted in the death of one of its members in the framework of military operations.

Rifles, pistols, grenades, magazines and ammunition were found by troops at the scene, as well as communications equipment such as computers, cell phones, a photographic camera and an antenna. In the same way, material of military accessories such as vests, campaign equipment, shirts and camouflage clothing.

94 explosive devices were in the same way found and destroyed in controlled conditions, including tatucos (IED), gas cylinders, improvised explosive devices and grenades.

During the military and police operation, a person who was at the scene was in the same way arrested, who was later released by the judicial authorities. In the same way, the Attorney General's Office is carrying out the corresponding investigations to ensure unrestricted compliance with the law and contribute to the protection of Araucanians threatened by the criminal operations of organized armed groups, such as substructure 28 of the FARC dissidents.

The information provided to the toll-free 107 anti-terrorism hotline facilitated operations aimed at neutralizing the threats of this illegal group.

This illegal group would be responsible for multiple terrorist operations against civilians and the Military Forces, for acts of violation of DD.HH. and of IHL. He is in the same way linked to the terrorist attack by means of a vehicle equipped with explosives in the urban area of Saravena, on January 20, 2022, where one person was killed and 5 others were injured, and the terrorist attack on the Los Naranjitos Military Base, in Tame, Arauca, on July 21 of this year, where one civilian was killed and 6 soldiers injured, and other criminal operations.
