The five individuals posed as members of the ELN and made illegal roadblocks at different points on the Murillo - Manizales road.
Thanks to the intelligence work of the soldiers of the Infantry Battalion N.16 Patriotas of the Sixth Brigade of the National Army and in coordination with the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the National Police, it was possible to arrest five individuals of the GDO Los Paramos, who commit crimes such as extortion posing as members of the ELN, generating unrest among the inhabitants.
The individuals for a year carried out illegal roadblocks on the road that leads from Murillo to Manizales, at points such as La Vuelta al Ocho, Cabaña, Los Novillos among others; they at different times made illegal roadblocks, with handguns and demanded money from those who passed along this road route in exchange for not attacking the lives of the inhabitants. Exhaustive monitoring carried out by military intelligence for a year, and thanks to more than 10 denunciations, it was possible to fully identify the members of this organized gang.
The individuals identified as alias Andrés, alias Jorge, alias Yulth, alias Jhon Jairo and alias Cristian, were arrested and put into custody of the specialized Prosecutor's Office 3 delegated for the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Tolima.
In this way, within the framework of the Ayacucho Plan, we work for the return of security and tranquility of the inhabitants of this northern part of the department of Tolima, thanks to the military control of the area of our Soldiers of the Sixth Brigade of the National Army.
