Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plan, troops of the Antioquia Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group), working in coordination with the Gaula of the National Police, arrested 10 members of the Caicedo Organized Gang.
In the operation Magnus, carried out in the department of Antioquia, 10 people were arrested by judicial order who were wanted by the Colombian justice for the crimes of association to commit aggravated crimes for the purposes of extortion, forced displacement, trafficking, manufacture or carrying of narcotics and trafficking, manufacture and carrying of firearms.
Among those arrested is alias Pipe, the ringleader of this criminal structure. He was the main responsible for the collection of money from extortions absent the commercial sector, collective passenger transport, hotels, residences, nightclubs, casinos, parking lots, sex workers, among others.
It should be noted that the criminal structure would be linked to crimes already mentioned with which it had an annual profitability that ranges over 8 billion pesos. This result strengthens territorial control, while weakening the illegal activities of criminal structures.
