Minister of Defense invites citizens to trust the security operation conducted on the roads by the Military Forces

Minister of Defense, Diego Molano, presented a report of the security situation on the country's roads, where 10 terrorist strikes have been reported, of which eight have already been overcome.

“The security operation of our Military Forces is effective. The 10 strikes we have are concentrated in five municipalities in Colombia, in three departments, Norte de Santander, Santander and Cauca,” the Minister explained.

As for the terrorist operation that hit the Trujillo Bridge in the municipality of Pailitas, in the department of Cesar, the Minister reported that an alternative route has already been enabled and the National Army is working very fast to install a military bridge in this place. Minutes before a security meeting in the municipality of Barrancabermeja, the authorities confirmed that these terrorist operations on the roads have beaten eight Colombians, including cleaning workers such as what happened in San Gil, Santander, where they were injured by an explosive device.

In addition, the head of the defense ministry insisted that the fundamental question that Colombians must ask is, who is behind this attacks and why those people do it 20 days before the elections. “It is clear that the Eln is the enemy of the Colombians, it is the enemy of the inhabitants of Santander. It is the enemy of those who today wanted to transit but later they could not do so. But thanks to the work of our Military Forces in eight of those points, mobility was restored,” Molano emphasized.

“They want to influence the elections, to open up to them those false possibilities of peace negotiations that they do not believe in but that they do use [for their benefit]. Or for some candidates to give them forgiveness. Here the Colombians have to know that the Military Forces are working for their security and they fight every day against those Symbols of Evil such as the Eln.”

Minister Molano and the high military and police commanders called on citizens and especially transporters to trust the Military Forces, to report to the authorities any situation that could disturb their mobility.

Security meeting in Aguachica, Cesar

Minister Diego Molano in the same way activated the Democracy Plan in the municipality of Aguachica, Cesar, where he held an extraordinary security meeting with the military and police high command and regional commands.

In addition, the head of the ministry of defence overflew the Ruta del Sol to verify the situation of law and order. He visited the site of the terrorist attack on the Trujillo Bridge which links the municipalities of Curumaní and Pailitas; there he instructed the National Army, through its military engineers, to build a military bridge there as soon as possible. However, the Minister explained that an alternative route has already been enabled to make way for passenger transport

He in the same way reiterated that the Military Forces are all over the country to work for the security and mobility of Colombians. He insisted on the rejection of the actions of the Eln attackers, especially by harming the cleaning workers, as was the case with the explosion reported on the San Gil – Socorro road.
