Through territorial control efforts, an individual known as Camilo, who apparently was involved in the activation of a motorcycle equipped with explosives in Corinto, in June 2020, was arrested.
In less than 24 hours, troops of the National Army, in their continuous military operation in northern Cauca, arrested alias Camilo, who would be the younger brother of alias Wisky, ringleader of the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Dagoberto Ramos Ortiz who would allegedly be part of this structure.
Alias Camilo, apparently served as coordinator of the gang of alias Wisky that commits crimes in the municipalities of Huasanó and el Jagual of Corinto, Cauca, with the network of support to the residual structure (RAER) of the urban area of that municipality.
This man would be the alleged author of the activation of a motorcycle conditioned with explosives in the Pampa Linda neighborhood, urban area of the municipality of Corinto, an event that occurred in June 2020, and that had the purpose of attacking a checkpoint in the place.
The GAO residual Dagoberto Ramos Ortiz conducts various criminal acts such as kidnapping merchants, extortion, murder, vehicle theft and terrorist operations against civilians and Military Forces in the municipalities of Toribío, Jambaló, Corinto, Miranda and Caloto, in the north of the department of Cauca.
In this way, the National Army weakens the criminal component of these residual structures and neutralizes their terrorist and drug trafficking activity, thereby reaffirming its commitment to the safety, well-being and development of the civilians of Cauca.
