These results are a blow -valued at more than USD $418 million- to the illegal finances of drug trafficking organizations.
During January, 2021, the Colombian Navy, with its units attached to the Caribbean Naval Force and the coordinated work with countries such as the United States, Panama, Dominican Republic, Honduras, Jamaica and the United Kingdom, has seized 12,425 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, especially in the Caribbean Sea.
With these operations it was possible to hit the illicit finances of Organized Armed Groups that commit crimes in this region of the country, preventing the selling of more than 31 million personal doses in international markets. This blow is valued at more than USD $418 million.
These results are thanks to the permanent sea, coast, and river security and control operations led by the Caribbean Naval Force through the Coast Guard, the Air Force and the Navy Infantry, institutions that contribute to the protection of the inhabitants, the country development and especially fighting one of the main causes that generates violence in the Colombian Caribbean.
It is noteworthy that drug trafficking is the main source of financing of Organized Armed Groups (GAO); Organized Crime Groups (GDO); and other criminal groups. They acquire war material, with which they intimidate, frighten and violate the Human Rights of Colombian people.
