The Minister of Defense, Guillermo Botero, announced at the Marine Infantry Training Base in Coveñas (Sucre) that this year the Security forces has manually eradicated more than 62,000 hectares of illicit plantations in Colombia.
"With the figures we have, from August 7 to December 13, (29,283 hectares), we have eradicated more hectares than in the first seven months of the year, which were 28,888 hectares," said Minister Botero .
In that sense, Minister Botero, who shared with the Marine infantry men presents and letters as part of the campaign 'I take you in my heart - Mail of Gratitude', reported that in the coming days he will present a report with the eradication of illicit plantations reached by the Security forces in 2018.
