The works in the structure take place after a tripartite agreement conducted by the municipal administration, the community and the National Army.
Caquetá. In order to improve the living conditions and guarantee the wellbeing of the members of 100 families of rural area of the municipality of El Doncello, in the department of Caquetá; the Twelfth Brigade through the Mechanized Cavalry Group "General Ramón Arturo Rincón Quiñones" No.12, established an alliance with the communities and the Municipal Mayor's Office to carry out maintenance and so improve the suspension bridge of La Serranía, which is used daily by children and girls from nine hamlets to go to school.
The works are part of the program "Faith in Colombia - Passion Caquetá" and will be executed under the guidelines of the Support Command of Comprehensive action and Development of the National Army, through the military engineers of the Battalion "Liborio Mejía".
The works are projected to take 60 days depending on the atmospheric conditions. These are procedures such as the conservation of the wiring, the steel wires and the change of the wood parts, the columns, the transverse supports and the floor.
The intervention begins last January 13, when a technical visit took place after the clamor of the community that requested the settlement of the bridge that was already deteriorated by the use and time, which represented a risk for farmers in the sector, since they must use it to cross El Doncello river and exit to the road that leads to the municipal government.
Two non-commissioned officers and ten soldiers trained in heights, carried out the works that become a reality with the resources given by the Municipal Mayor of El Doncello to the Communitarian action Board of the village La Serranía.
