Within the framework of the Democracy 2023 Plan, the Amazonas Naval Force, through a joint, coordinated and interagency work, sent about 1,100 Colombian Sailors and navy units to work in the checkpoints in the areas of responsibility, works for raising the free right to vote in the Colombian Amazon region.

On the occasion of the local and regional elections on October 29, this Major Operational Unit is carrying out the Democracy 2023 Plan, strengthening its operational resources and increasing the number of units, working to increase the mobility and security of Colombians during the free exercise of democracy.

The military attached to the Navy Infantry Brigade No. 3, the Amazonas River Flotilla and the Amazonas Coast Guard Command, are conducting security and accompaniment work on rivers, main docks and banks of the Amazonas. Additionally, military units were sent to support the constitutional mission of the Colombian Navy in other regions of the country.

According to the latest electoral census conducted by the National Civil Status Registry office, there are 38,965,515 Colombians who can vote in the elections, 1,231,156 correspond to the departments of Amazonas, Caquetá, Meta, Guaviare and Putumayo, where 610 polling stations and 4,778 polling tables will be installed to exercise this important mechanism of citizen participation.

The Naval Force of the Amazonas, works to increase the security and mobility of Colombians so that mass suffrage of citizens at the polling stations in the Colombian southeast takes place.
