The Directorate of Aerospace Medicine (DIMAE) of the Colombian Air Force, at the facilities of the Military Transport Air Command-CATAM, conducted the Emergency Response training course involving Nuclear, Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Explosive Incidents (NQBRE), given the current situation in the International context.

The course, which was supported by the Volunteer Fire Department of the city of Bogotá D.C., led to military personnel to acquire new Resources in order to provide support for any threat or risk of chemical weapons. As part of their closure, they had an exercise where a terrorist attack was recreated in the vicinity of El Dorado International Airport, where they were exposed to a toxic substance.

It is important to highlight that the new operational resources in Aeromedical Transfer seeks to safeguard the lives of Colombians throughout the national territory, in addition to preparing the aeromedical crews in Incident Command System, First Responder in Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) and even in NQBRE.

In this way, the Colombian Air Force becomes aware of the latent threat that afflicts the world in terms of Nuclear Incidents and trains its personnel to provide support for any type of situation, reaffirming its commitment to protect the life and good physical condition of all Colombians.
