The military, since last October and until today have reported clearing more than 6,600 square meters of suspected mines and explosive devices.

The National Army has been carrying out, in the municipality of Apartadó, Antioquia, a process to free this area of the country from suspicion of and presence of anti-personnel mines and explosive devices.

This is how in recent days, the threat of three anti-personnel mines has been neutralized, which were found by troops on roads in the municipality of La Unión, in the municipality of Apartadó, which are daily used by peasants for their daily activities. This operation led to the protection of at least 160 people living in that sector.

It is important to mention that, since last October 2022, have been cleared 6,694 square metters, giving as a result 8,359 square meters free of suspicions of anti-personnel mines and explosive devices in the region of Urabá, in the department of Antioquia.

The National Army will continue to work through the unified operation in the municipality of San José, since in addition to freeing the areas of explosive devices, they have in the same way carried out activities such as visits to the park, improvement of roadways together with the community, first aid care for snake bites, among other cases.
