The Command of the Twenty-Second Jungle Brigade, a unit of the Fourth Division of the National Army, reports:
1. In acts that are under investigation, last Tuesday night, January 11, 2022, in the village Agua Bonita, rural area of the municipality of Calamar, Guaviare, apparently, in what would be a case of intolerance, a soldier fired his weapon against another soldier, who died instantly.
2. As soon as the regrettable action is known, and after the Police carried out the urgent acts, the victim was transferred by air to the municipality of San José del Guaviare. The shooter is already into custody of the s authorities.
3. The National Army, in compliance with the principle of harmonious collaboration with the institutions, will assist the authorities in the investigations so that the facts can be promptly clarified.
4. The institution sends a message of condolences to the family and partners of the soldier, and is already conducting the work of accompaniment in this difficult situation, to provide all the support they require.
