Thanks to the immediate reaction of the Military Gaula - Risaralda with the CTI of the Attorney General's Office, Mr. Gabriel Darío Patiño, who had been kidnapped on November 16, when he was on his way from Pereira to the municipality of Caicedonia, was released.
The kidnapping took place through the modality of false service when the victim, a transporter from Pereira, was requested to carry typography equipment to the municipality Caicedonia, in Valle del Cauca. It was thus that, when the service got the agreed place, he was kidnapped by some individuals, who identified themselves as members of the Dagoberto Ramos column of the extinct Farc, commander Alex and Antonio.
Once Mr. Patiño, 55, was detained, the kidnappers contacted with both his family and his employer, demanding $50,000,000 COP for his release.
Once the family made a denunciation aided by the units of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group), they proceeded to conduct the different operations of judicial investigation, using search work, determining the point where he was saw for the last time with their vehicle, showing that in the sector were strange movements, so several units of the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) and the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) were deployed, getting the whereabouts of the man on the way Barragan - Caicedonia, in Valle del Cauca; troops also obtained, by pressure of the troops, the release of the kidnapped, achieving the reunion with his relatives and the non-payment of the sum demanded by the extortionists.
It should be noted that in the operation and in coordination with different agencies, the identification of one of the persons involved in the event is achieved, which is under investigation by the authorities.
