The Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of Santander of the Fifth Brigade, Second Division of the National Army and the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps), attached to this unit arrested in Girón, Santander alias Patuleco, alleged ringleader of the gang Los Patulecos, who perpetrated extortions in Bucaramanga and its metropolitan area.
According to the denunciations and investigations, this individual would be aware of the publications of users on social networks on their lost or stolen items, and he contacted them stating that he would have the items in his possession and demanded money in exchange for returning them.
Alias Patuleco was put into custody of the judicial authority and must face charges for the crime of extortion.
This arrest complements two more that had been made last November in which two other members were apprehended by the authorities, leaving completely dismantled this gang that intimidated especially the inhabitants of Girón, Piedecuesta and the Santander capital city.
