The Colombian Navy, through the Urabá Coast Guard Units and in coordination with the National Police seized 143.2 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride inside a boat in the Bahía Aguacate sector, in the municipality of Turbo, Antioquia.
This important seizure was achieved thanks to information received from the Civic Participation Network and the expertise of the units who found the boat called En Fe, which was abandoned in the beach. At the site, it was possible to determine that its interior had a double bottom, so the authorities proceeded to transport it to the Naval Checkpoint in Sapzurro, Chocó, to verify the material found.
Once verified the material, the boat was transported to the main dock of the Coast Guard Station of Urabá, where officials of the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DIJÍN) carried out the Preliminary Identification Test (PIPH), which delivered a positive result for 143.2 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.
This blow to the illegal finances of the Organized Armed Group (GAO) Clan del Golfo, which commit crimes in this region, is valued at more than USD $4 million.
The boat and the material were put into custody of the Criminal Investigation Group of the National Police of Turbo. During the operation no captures were made.
