15 people were captured simultaneously, in addition more than eight billion pesos were found.
In a binational, coordinated and inter-agency operation carried out by the Colombian and Ecuadorian authorities, 15 suspected members of a drug trafficking organization that had links with Mexican Cartels and residual organized armed groups, Gao-r, and delinquents in Colombia and Ecuador, were captured. Troops also found cash, war elements, communication equipment and clothing for the exclusive use of the military forces.
The successful operation Horus, was carried out simultaneously on Tuesday morning, in Colombia in the Departments of Valle del Cauca and Nariño, and in Ecuador in the province of Esmeraldas.
In Colombia, troops of the Colombian Navy, attached to the Pacific Naval force, together with members of the Attorney General's office and the National Police, captured 10 people, including a woman, who were put under arrest for the crimes of trafficking, manufacture, carrying narcotics, Association to commit aggravated crimes and money laundering.
In the capital city of Valle del Cauca, the authorities reached the neighborhoods Arboleda, La Flora, Nueva Base, Ricardo Balcázar, Vallado and Villa del Sur, to conduct search efforts that resulted in the capture of eight people and the finding of more than eight thousand seven hundred million pesos, more than three thousand dollars, as well as the finding of 16 cartridges caliber 5.56 millimeters, a camouflage uniform and 12 cell phones.
The money was found inside a building, in the Ricardo Balcázar neighborhood, where alias El Señor, lived. He was the ringleader of this organization and is specialist in the transport of narcotics from Colombia to Mexico. This individual had been captured in 2004 for crimes related to drug trafficking, money laundering and the formation of illegal armed groups, for which he was deprived of his liberty for three years. When he regained his freedom he dedicated to reactivating his criminal activities by posing as an entrepreneur.
